Thank you for enjoying PicTrée.
We would like to remind all players of proper etiquette during gameplay. We have also added specific guidance on how to respond when approached by local residents, so please read this carefully.
◼️ Introduction – Why Are We Taking Photos?
PicTrée is a game where players help support infrastructure inspections for telecommunications and power companies by photographing utility poles and other infrastructure equipment. The photos you take are sent to telecommunications and power companies, where they are used to verify equipment conditions and contribute to the safe and stable maintenance of society’s infrastructure.
In other words, while enjoying the game, you are participating in the socially meaningful activity of “utility pole inspections.”
Local residents may sometimes ask, “What are you doing?” So you can explain in your own words, please memorize the following phrase:
“I am helping with utility pole inspections. The photos I take are sent to telecommunications and power companies and are used for maintenance and inspection work.”
Whether or not you can communicate this one phrase directly affects whether local residents feel reassured and understand the activity.
1. Rules You Must Always Follow
• Do not enter private property, managed areas, or restricted zones (do not approach suspicious locations regardless of whether fences, ropes, or signs are present).
• If instructed by a resident, facility manager, or store staff to stop, please comply immediately.
2. If You Are Approached by a Local Resident
The most important thing is to stop, stay where you are, and explain the purpose of your activity in your own words. Simply presenting your Inspector ID will not tell the person what you are doing. Please follow these three steps:
● Step 1: Stop and Respond Calmly
If someone speaks to you, do not leave the scene. Start by saying, “I apologize for causing you concern.”
● Step 2: Explain the Purpose of Your Activity
Using the example phrases below, explain what you are photographing and why.
<Example Explanation for Residents>
“I apologize for causing you concern. I am a player of a smartphone game called ‘PicTrée,’ and I am helping with utility pole inspections for telecommunications and power companies.
I am currently photographing utility poles. The photos are sent to telecommunications and power companies and are used for pole inspection and maintenance. I never photograph homes or people.
Here is my certificate of activity (Inspector ID). For more details about this activity, please visit the official PicTrée website (https://pictree.greenwaygrid.global).”
● Step 3: Present Your Inspector ID and Provide Contact Information
Please present your Inspector ID. If the person has further questions, direct them to the PicTrée inquiry contact (pictree_cs@dea.sg).
<How to Display Your Inspector ID>

<Please Note>
• Responses such as “I’m just taking pictures of poles” or “Please contact NTT for details” before leaving the area may cause further anxiety or misunderstanding. Please avoid this.
• If the person is still concerned after your explanation, do not continue the conversation — simply direct them to the inquiry contact.
3. If You Find a Utility Pole That Cannot Be Photographed
Do not force a photo. Please use the “Report” feature in the app to let us know. The information you provide will be used to improve rules and safety measures.
<How to Report>

① Tap the icon for the target asset
② Tap the megaphone icon in the top right
③ Check the issue occurring with the target and tap “Next”
④ If you have a useful photo, take one using the “Shoot” button, then tap “Submit”
