●Introduction to Tourist Attractions in the Mid-mountain and Summit Area of Mount Akagi:
▼赤城神社(Akagi Shrine)

Situated on the shores of Ono Lake, where many of Mount Akagi’s hiking trails converge, this beautifully vermilion-painted shrine is known as one of Gunma Prefecture’s leading spiritual sites. It is associated with the legend of 赤城姫, who was summoned by the deities of Mount Akagi and the lake, known as “赤城大明神”. According to the “神道集,” prayers made to this goddess are said to be particularly effective, making it a popular spot especially among women.

▼Ono Lake

Surrounded by primeval forests, this approximately 800,000 square meter caldera lake features a walking path around its perimeter that takes about an hour to complete. In the summer, the lake is a popular spot for boating and camping; in autumn, visitors can enjoy boat fishing for smelt, and in winter, when the lake surface freezes over, ice fishing for smelt is available. Situated at an altitude of about 1,350 meters, it is one of the few places in the Kanto region where ice bubbles can be observed.

Important Points to Consider:
・The sidewalk along Prefectural Road 4 leading to the summit of Mount Akagi is narrow, and some utility poles may be difficult to photograph. Please pay close attention to traffic safety, and stop playing if you feel it is dangerous. If you find it too difficult to play due to photography challenges, please contact us via DM at PicTrée Official(https://x.com/pictree_dea).
・(Especially for those playing in the summit area) In Maebashi city, particularly from late April to October, there have been many sightings and reports of bears in residential areas at the southern base of Mount Akagi. If you encounter a bear or other large wildlife, seek refuge temporarily in a vehicle or building, or leave the area quietly and calmly.
